The Best GPS Reviews – I adore it. Really easy to line up and use. My wife’s automobile has OnStar and this small Garmin performs just as well or better without the additional cost needed for OnStar. The voice is clear and loud on directing your turns and the 5-inch screen is simple to view while driving. I intentionally left the directed route to find out how it answered to picking me up and updating directions. It performed very well on redirecting me and didn’t miss a beat. I’m completely satisfied with the performance and the prevailing cost is reasonable for such a great machine. I had reviewed lots of other models of Garmin and others before selecting this one. This is my 2nd GPS and Garmin, this replaced the nuvi 205. This device is very good. It’s totally slim and light, considering it’s still a 5in screen. The screen is enormous and well lit and coloured. It hasn’t glared in the sunshine. The speech is awfully clear. I like the Bluetooth, it was straightforward to sync up with my telephone and connects immediately. It also captures the satellite signal simply, which my older Garmin didn’t. Overall, the rate and precision is excellent.

It also offers great search capacities and other nice features. It is extremely easy to use and simple to navigate between the numerous screens and your route. Also, the volume is awfully loud, and can be altered. This is nice when you’re in a loud area. It also incorporates traffic and lifetime maps. The traffic feature tells you precisely how much your route is being delayed, then gives you the choice to re-route or not. My beau has a very costly TomTom, and we both like this Garmin far better.

It’s much more user-friendly. My one complaint is that the navigation directions can be rather mystifying sometimes. For instance, it’ll say to get off at exit 40A / 40B. Not till the last 2nd, about when it is too late to change lanes, will it explain precisely which lane and exit you have to be in. It does this all of the time, and means I’d need a last moment lane change or I miss my exit.

I only wish they just stated from the beginning the categorical exit or lane required. Overall, it is a great GPS and would commend it, particularly for the cost.

Great Product!

I’m very happy with my acquisition of the Garmin nuvi 1490 LMT. I also bought the Garmin ecoRoute HD Auto Diagnostics Communicator HD. Both work more effectively than I might have anticipated. The GPS gets me to where I want to be, gives me turn by turn directions, gives times, speeds and more. The traffic updates are very good. When I’m driving in the area I’m living, traffic is certain to be a problem. I am able to now reroute my trip.

There were some negative statements about the pop up adds which just about made me not purchace it but I read this function can be turned off. I left it on and once in awhile there’s an add that turns up on the screen. Whomever bitched about this is funny. The add doesn’t get in the way of the map, its little and only lasts for a little less than a half a minute. The bluetoth works extremely well aswell. Superb for speaking on the telephone when driving.

When I connected the HD communicator it is explicitly attached to my car onboard PC thru the bluetooth. This gives me gas mileage, speed, RPMs, engine temp, engine load, air temp, air intake temp and plenty more. I read a post about the gauges not reacting quick enough. There’s a 2nd delay on the RPMs and some other gauges. This isn’t a racing gauge system. Its for everyday driving and is intended to help in your driving habits to save you gas and money.

To protest about the gauges not reacting fast is something that shouldn’t even be a component in deciding to buy this. When you’re looking for drag strip gauges then this isn’t for you. For the price you can’t beat this GPS.

I’d purchase this again.
